Does God Really See Me?
Have you felt rejected by God?

Grief is Not a Competition
During the covid pandemic, I had a phone call with a friend. I noticed she sounded sad, and I asked her about it. She blurted: “Oh, I feel so silly complaining about missing my son, who lives out of town when you’re never able to see your son again!” Then she burst into sobs…
Different Personalities, Same Savior
Of all the personalities in my life, none are better, and none are worse. It just is. This is how God made us. We all complement and challenge each other in different ways, whether we are very alike or very different. There are none of us who are exactly the same. God did that on purpose.
When You Feel Like You Don’t Fit In
I don't know who needs to hear this, but it's okay if you feel like you don't fit in...
Like you have a lot of friends, but there's no one place where you belong.
Like you don't quite fit in with your mom friends because being a special needs mama is a unique path.
Like you don't quite fit in with the typical Christian crowd because you're a bit rough around the edges.
Like you don't quite fit in with your friends outside the church because you talk about Jesus "too much."
Staying Afloat While Drowning
I was watching my kids swim in the pool. The two boys were swimming very close to each other. I heard one of them yell, “Stop trying to take me under!” The other boy yelled back, “I’m not trying to take you under. I’m trying to stay above!” Being a person who works with struggling people regularly and having been a struggling person myself, I was struck with the metaphor.
