Navigating the Waters of Faith & Mental Health
Different Personalities, Same Savior
Of all the personalities in my life, none are better, and none are worse. It just is. This is how God made us. We all complement and challenge each other in different ways, whether we are very alike or very different. There are none of us who are exactly the same. God did that on purpose.
Helpful or Harmful?
The other day I went for my first run in a really long time. First, I stretched. Since my body has mostly been sitting at a desk, hiding inside all winter, it was uncomfortable even to stretch. Like you don't quite fit in with your friends outside the church because you talk about Jesus "too much."
Staying Afloat While Drowning
I was watching my kids swim in the pool. The two boys were swimming very close to each other. I heard one of them yell, “Stop trying to take me under!” The other boy yelled back, “I’m not trying to take you under. I’m trying to stay above!” Being a person who works with struggling people regularly and having been a struggling person myself, I was struck with the metaphor.
